Sounds Familiar?
Maybe your story is not quite so dramatic but, you basically stop before the business starts. In fact, some people never even start. They keep waiting for the perfect opportunity. In contrast, there are some who over-plan and never get past the planning stage.
Steps You Need to Take to Start
The first thing you need to do is START. This is not to diminish the business planning stage. A good thorough business plan is essential to building a business. However, you do not need a 30-page plan to get you started. It doesn’t have to be extensive at first, but you need to cover all bases.
- Legal Entity
- Financial Plan
- Short term and Long Term Goals
- Competition
- And Marketing Strategies
After you write your plan, implement. Everyday take steps to reach your short team goals. Bullet journaling is very helpful. I use it in both my business and personal life to keep me on track to reach my goals. If you are serious about wanting the business to work, you have to first start. It’s just that simple.
Quitting is Not an Option
Yes, it’s true that Quitting is not an option but, failure is. It is better to fail than to quit. Sometimes even after failing multiple times quitting is still not an option to entertain. Every time you fail it is an opportunity to learn. With each attempt, you become an expert on how it should be done. Use failures to build your foundation so, your company will stand on a solid structure.
If you don’t know, Ask
Don’t be afraid to get help. There are many free programs designed to assist small business owners in starting their business successfully. Find a SCORE in your area and a meeting. Very often, they are able to answer any basic questions you might have regarding how you should start.
So, get busy and get started. Plan for success, and implement. Don’t give up and if you need help, ask.
