Habit-forming is surprisingly a popular subject. There are so many different books, podcasts, and videos on the many different habits you should cultivate to succeed. Recently, I read Atomic Habits by James Clear, and to my discovery, habit-forming is a popular subject. With this knowledge, I decided to explore further and embrace the habits of successful entrepreneurs.
For starters, most successful people have a morning routine. Certainly, the routine includes:
- 1. Drinking water-Upon wakening you should consume 8-16 oz. of water a day.
- 2. Exercise-Keeps the mind and body in shape. Mostly, it increases energy and promotes stamina to get through the day with ease.
- 3. Meditation/Prayer-Fosters a positive mood and helps to create a positive vibe. As a result, you will be more able to handle trials with a clear mind.
Hence, developing a morning ritual will help to streamline encompassing all these items without fail.
In addition, journaling is also a good way to start the day. I personally use bullet journaling throughout the day to stay on task. However, including a quick 5-minute journal in your morning routine is a refreshing way to start the day.
What Makes Having Successful Habits Easier
Undoubtedly, this has been one of my biggest struggles. For many years, having successful habits eluded me. Consequently, one of the largest culprits is surrounding myself with like-minded people. Now, I know what you’re thinking. How does this make having successful habits easier? Above all, this is the hardest habit to implement because it could mean establishing new relationships and leaving old ones behind.
In order to set yourself up for success, you must be around people with a common goal. With that being said, be open to learning from others that have mastered your goals and model their behavior.
Resources for Success
Throughout the day I engulf myself in learning more about business and strategies to prosper. Firstly, I start my day in the car listening to podcasts. Secondly, as I work I listen to audible books. Apart from this, you must involve yourself with associations and networking opportunities.
Networking creates opportunities for learning as well as building strong relationships with like-minded people. Never underestimate the power of networking.
Common Habits of Successful People
As a result of my researching this topic, I found many similar habits of successful people. All in all, they are simple and easy to follow. Complicated habits will decrease the likelihood of adhering to the schedule. It is significant to develop flexible habits that can change as you learn and grow. Most importantly, remember entrepreneurs are visionaries. It is critical that you establish and adhere to a schedule that will foster your vision.
